New Funded Hours Options

There are two types of "Enhanced" (30hr) Funding Agreements
Agreement A   This deals in 22.5hrs/wk over 50 weeks. Here the parent  agrees to pay for additional services not inluded in EYFS funding @ an hourly rate of £1.10/hr. This means 22.5hrs/wk (3 days @ 7.5hr) of subsidised care will cost 22.5hrs x £1.10 = £24.75 per week plus £2.60 Lorton Lunches that are charged by them and are paid to them separately.
Agreement B  Here the parent will not make any other payment over and above the funded hours with the exception of those optional goods and services that would normally be charged for (extra-curricular activities).
The two parental options are as follows.

Agreement A  (additional services charged during Funded Hours)  - the specialist service of our provision offers a level of quality care and early years education that substantially exceeds the requirements for the funded hours set out by the Department for Education. This is the option to select for this specialist service. We offer this service during your child’s funded hours and make charges extra to the funded hours (noted above) for the services that are additional to the standard care required by the Department for Education. The exact additional services are not included as standard in our “Funded Hours Only” parental agreement.  This service allows you to-

• Select the sessions and days that suit your requirements (subject to availability).
• Have the flexibility to book extra sessions
• Have a permanent set of booked sessions until your child leaves our provision.
• Stretch your child’s funded hours up to 50 weeks a year.
• Use the funded hours before 9am, after 3pm and during lunch time.
• Nursery breakfast 30p, Morning Snack 40p, Afternoon Snack 40p and Tea  80p (are included)

Additional Services (these items are not included in the EYFS funding)

All craft supplies including paint, glue, paper and embellishments, messy play resources, wipes, disposable gloves, paper tissues, 1000s rolls of toilet paper, hand cleaner, antibacterial gel, sun cream, sunhats, winter hats, wellies, all-in-one Rain Suits, high viz jackets, spare underwear, spare socks, spare leggings, booster seats, fairy liquid, bleach, Milton Fluid, washing powder, carpet cleaner, nappy bags, first aid supplies, fire inspections, fire equipment maintenence, electrical testing, calpol, aprons, green paper towels, soaps, tooth brushes, tooth paste, spare nappies, spare pull-ups, floor cleaner, hoover bags, mops and sponge mop heads, touch screen computers, online reporting via Samsung Galaxy tablets.

In addition - the Early Years funding has been calculated on the assumption that all settings are working to their maximum ratios permitted and to the minimum numbers of qualified staff  permitted. This statutory minimum is one member of staff qualified as a Level 3 practitioner with the remaining staff being qualified at Level 2 or unqualified.  Here at Strawberry How Nursery part of our "additional services" charge includes our "Quality Premium".

"Quality Premium" reflects on the fact that unlike most nurseries all our Key Worker staff are qualified to Level 3 or above in full and relevant Childcare Qualifications. Our "Quality Premium" also contributes toward the cost of paying our staff annual leave, workplace pension contributions, statutory sick pay, their DBS certification and the annual training costs for their certificates in Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding and other relevant training development courses in Early Years.  None of these items are funded by the Early Years Funding yet they are a statutory requirement.

Parents who select this service choose to use their child’s funded hours in order to reduce the total number of hours they are charged for their childcare and education in our Nursery.

You will find that these services and benefits are all included within our normal hourly fees for children under 3 yrs of age and this agreement strives to maintain this. If you are already a parent at this provision experiencing this level of service and you want it to continue in the same way you will need to sign the Parent/Agreement/Contract for Additional Services charged during Funded Hours.

For parents who do not want to pay for these additional services and benefits you must use Agreement B the “Funded Hours Only” parental agreement/contract.
Agreement B (Funded Hours only) - this is an agreement / contract that offers a totally free place for an eligible child. The offer of a funded place is not conditional on any charge or charges and is offered subject to availability in accordance with the requirements for the funded hours set out by the Department for Education. We only have two places for funded hours only, as dictated by our business and sustainability model. In order to meet the demands of places, we can only allocate funded hours only places on a term to term basis. Hours offered are offered for the following term only and we cannot guarantee that there will be a place available after that. Funded Hours Only places will be offered with at least 2 weeks-notice in advance of the start of the term in which the place will be available. Days and hours will be determined by the provision subject to availability. For parents taking this option, there is no option to purchase additional hours. We cannot manage requests for changes to sessions and the sessions allocated by us are fixed until the end of the term in which they have been allocated. For parents taking up this option, funded sessions cannot be used before 9.00am, after 3.00pm and during lunch. If you wish to select this type of place, you should sign the Parental Agreement/Contract for Funded Hours Only.
The Universal "15hrs/wk" grant is still available if neither option above is suitable.
